Sigma
Demon Hunter
Sigma is a demon hunter Captain who commands a group of hunters on the mission to capture Malka from his misdeeds of enchanting the nearby city within the Kingdom.
Sigma holds a grudge against Malka for the death of his sister. She lived in the neighboring city that Malka enchanted and made into his little playground. Upon Malka's inevitable capture, the residents of the kingdom fought for Malka's freedom, still fevered by Malka's powerful enchantment. They fought against the group of hunters who were unsure how to fight off this many civilians.
The hunters (with Malka in bonds) took refuge in the main Keep of the city, until they could safely pull malka's enchantment out of their range, however many of them killed themselves, unable to bear life without their beloved Malka's presence, or gravely wounded themselves attempting to free Malka from his bonds, without attention to their own bodily safety. Sigma's sister was one of these casualties.
After Malka is brought to the prison city of Sekkra, and processed for his cage assignment, Sigma changed the location and treatment of Malka's initial processing report. Causing the demon to be placed under stricture bonds, and designates specific hunters he knows are not as kind as most, in order to keep watch of Malka from then on.
In his anger and off the books, Sigma tortures Malka multiple times, trying to force the demon to admit to his wrongdoings, to the death of the city's residents and his own sister. Ye demon refuses to acknowledge his deeds, believing he had nothing to do with any of their deaths. "I never lifted a finger to kill anyone, I would never hurt a defenseless human! You have the wrong guy!" Malka claiming blood is not on his hands, if anything, its on Sigma's for causing the riot in the first place.
This enrages Sigma further, and thus periodically throughout the years of Malka's captivity, continues to torture the demon, until the city of Sekkra ultimately falls to a horde attack and all the demon prisoners escape... including Malka.
Before Malka's bonds are broken free, Sigma, amongst the chaos of the kingdom under fire, heads to the lower levels of where Malka is being held in the cages, bent on killing Malka while he's still under his confines, as one last act of revenge. This ultimately fails when a swarm of demons make it impossible for Sigma to finish his plans.
Malka, now free and bent on his own revenge, has Sigma wounded enough by the demon's (now under Malka enchantments), so that Sigma cannot walk or fight back, having Sigma and a group of humans and demons Malka controls, escape the chaos of the city, fleeing into the woods and away from Char's growing horde. Malka having enchanted all of those that he and Sigma had escaped the attack with (Rikkal and Favurn (even tho Sigma could care less about the demon) in particular) does not enchant Sigma (at least not fully).
Sigma is too wounded to fight back and must watch as the people he cares about, mindlessly adore the demon he hates the most. He's taken prisoner by the hunter survivors under Malka's influence, and lives with Malka for months onward in a small hidden village they discover on their travels from the burning city.
Malka enjoys enchanting Sigma enough to know that he's being enchanted, and disgusted with himself. Or having him watch helplessly as his friends treat Malka like royalty, keeping sigma prisoner in the process at Malka's command. Malka with the group of humans and demons under his influence, live safely, treating Malka to a life of luxury for many months, while hidden in a village within the woods of Edin. Whilst the outside world is gradually ravaged by the ever growing horde, bent on taking over the whole continent.
Eventually however, Char's horde finds their village as his rampage through the island continues unchallenged. Malka is easily overtaken by Char now, his powers becoming magically sealed into Char's evergrowing roster of demons and power he can utilize, disallowing Malka from using his own magics any longer unless under Char's commands.
Char however, offers Malka a chance to keep Sigma alive as a pet in the horde with him, if it'll make Malka more obedient... and less whiney. Before Malka can accept, Sigma throws himself off the edge of a forest cliff, choosing death over years more of malka's torment.
- grumpy/gets mad often when people don't listen to his advice, he knows what he's doing, just do it his way damn it, if it ain't broke, don't fix it! Lots of inner anxiety he refuses to show.
- has anger issues. if thats not obvious. He holds heavy grudges and is kinda petty.
- May or may not have had a couple of dealings selling off of demons to blackmarket individuals. just demons that no one will care about! it doesnt matter. its good coin on the side. he does not feel guilty about it, as he finds demons an absolute scourge on the land and most, if not all, are not to be trusted. If the demons he's let slip through the books of the system end up getting used for sacrifices or disassembled for parts or whatever, its not in his hands. out of sight and out of mind. There are many hunters in his circle that sympathies with his view on demons. Course this is looked down on in the hunter kingdom, but no ones done anything to stop him yet, from earning a buck or two on the side for some particularly nasty beasts that quite frankly, deserve the abuse they'll likely face in the undercity market. (Sigma is kinda like a dirty cop, lets be honest.)
- Completely unaware that Rikkal has a huge crush on him. Also completely unaware he has a huge crush on Rikkal.
- Has tribal tattoo on his right arm.
- His twin sister's name was Tebbie (Tebbionya). The last time Sigma saw her, they had a fight. They never had the chance to make up before she died.
- His sister was a dancer living in the nearby kingdom.
- Sigma can dance decently as well, but not as good as his sister, who made it her profession. Sigma held too much anger inside and lust for 'justice' as he calls it, and moved to Sekkra in order to train to be a hunter when he came of age.
After Sigma jumps to his death to escape Malka:
- For nearly 200 years, Sigma's spirit lays at the base of the forest cliff. He does not know he's dead. His bones are eventually found by Whorker, who hears Sigma's spirit calling for aid.
- Whorker helps heal Sigma's wounded soul. Choosing to treat him delicately as his soul had been through much turmoil already, being already at it's breaking point. As a torture demon, Whorker is capable of gently bringing Sigma to the realization that he's been long deceased, merely a wandering spirit, trapped in its old bones. Given Sigma's past, he automatically does not trust Whorker, although he does not remember his time with malka, or the fall of his demon hunter kingdom. Unsure of how he ended up wounded at the base of a cliff and does not believe Whorker when he claims the great Sekkra city had fallen long ago.
- There comes a time when Malka, having recently been released from Char's horde, after Char's demise (by a recently returned Demon Zerek), encounters Whorker, having sought him out in his travels to ask him to Heal a farm girl that Malka had come to love. The time in Char's horde having changed Malka greatly.
- Coming face to face with the spirit of Sigma brings to climax a confrontation between the two. Malka regretful of his past deeds, and begging sigma to allow him enough mercy to have Whorker heal the girl he'd fallen in love with. And Sigma, having his memories return at the sight of Malka, realizing now that it had been well over 100 years since his departure. Seeing the effects that char's horde had done to Malka, and the emotional maturity he'd grown into because of it. Sigma allows himself peace to forgive and move on. He disappears from Whorker's side, leaving the realm behind and entering purgatory, beginning his journey to a new reincarnation and a new future.
