Astasia
Human: Demon Hunter
Astasia is a well known Demon Hunter of the land, boarder line famous with her partner, Zerek. Her position in the kingdom is of high standing for a Hunter, as she often deals with the queen (means more money), and she's feared by demons for her renown skill with the blade and ability to capture demons practically single handedly, despite her foes' size and strength. Not entirely single handedly, of course, as she hunts with her boyfriend, Zerek, who has saved her life on more than one account.
She's cheerful and sarcastic, finding it difficult to let others talk her ear off for more than a couple of minutes, yet she'll be able to talk for just as long. Zerek and her are rarely separate. The two's love for each other can be felt even while on the battlefield. Despite her sometimes scatterbrained nature, Zerek is able to keep her level headed when a battle takes a drastic change in tide, and in turn, she can keep Zerek's head in the clouds when they have a moments peace, after all, the guy is way too serious for his own good! She prides herself in being able to make him laugh and smile.
Astasia doesn't always think about the consequences of her actions as much as she should and this eventually leads to the ending of all she holds dear.
Delusional Determination
The death of Zerek left a lasting toll on her. She became driven by the notion that she could bring him back to life. After seeking out Markus, the infamous 'Slaughter Tamer' who specializes in extreme magic usage, she forces/blackmails him into teaching her how to use the dark arts, convinced that by doing so, she could save Zerek. Slowly turning down a path she never expected of herself, having done deeds she is not proud of, at last puts her in the position to summon Grieve- thus pulling him away from Zerek's soul in Hell.It's not the plan she had initially set out to do, but if it helps Zerek in any way, she's willing to put her life on the line to do it. After summoning Grieve, Astasia is placed on trial by her Hunter Queen, sentenced to life in a sealed prison. Astasia is content knowing Grieve is under Hunter lock and key as well, unable to return to tormenting her beloved Zerek. Eventually however, Grieve escapes, leading to her untimely demise, but not before binding Grieve's soul to the living realm in one last effort to keep Grieve away from Zerek.
As Astasia's life concludes, Char's horde swarms the hunter city, overtaking it and crumbling the kingdom and ending the Hunter's reign and protection throughout the land. Char finds Astasia in time to prevent her soul from leaving her body, causing her to become something like a ghost trapped inside a corpse, in attempts to keep her in his clutches. Her body is held up in a secluded place in Char's horde, deep within a dormant volcano, preserved in time.
Trapped within her own body, Astasia's spirit becomes increasingly violent and powerful. She holds a grudge against Char for doing this to her. She holds a grudge against everything and losing Zerek drives her spirit to the point of insanity. When demon Zerek greets her corpse again, many centuries later, her spirit springs to life and erupts Char's volcano lair, trapping him inside and burning him alive- sending him back to his master Garanzo. Her soul finds peace as she leads Zerek out of the erupting volcano, to the safety of the outside world, where her spirit then fades away to nothing... neither going to purgatory, or any other realm. She literally ceases to exist.
