Soul Origin: alien creature seven times, Fly creature four times, goat creature two times, wasp creature twice, Beetle once
Soul Age: roughly 250000
Time working under Garanzo's rule: roughly 140000 years
Before The Twin's' final death (and return to purgatory), The Twins were an alien species known as the Nasgu'e (Nass Goo Eh).
- Before their deaths, The Twins were called 'Nam' and 'Aste'. Though it is unknown if they still refer to themselves as such.
Their species had figured out a way to cheat death. Transferring their souls (consciousness) from one body to the other, before their body failed them (sending them to purgatory).
Because of this, there are not many of these types of 'demons/angels' in Heaven or Hell, as they never go to purgatory, and as such, are never found and transformed into demons by the Torture demons. Often times, the ones that have died in the past, are usually snatched up by Purifier Angels and created into Angels instead. Angels lust after great soul energy/strength and the Nasgu'e are full of magical energy due to their prolonged life status. Their souls just get stronger with age in life.
Thus, The Twins are already a rare commodity in Hell as transformed demons, even without their their strange language and quirky habits.
- The origin of the Nasgu'e's culture of cheating death is based on a long forgotten fear of what comes after death. Their society is built off of the foundation of once knowing the horrors of what can happen to a soul after death, and therefore found a way to save their species (and others') from that terrible fate; eventually turning that fear into pride and common nature. However this knowledge of the afterlife has since been lost and merely exists in fable and ancient religious texts that few are able to understand.
Unfortunately, The Twins both died before being able to transfer their consciousness, and when they wound up in Purgatory, they were snatched up by a torture demon already waiting for them on the other side.
This is why they are such an oddity in Hell. They have their own language, (and one might think they have their past memories of life still in tact as well). It is believed that the torture demon that turned them into demons did not know how to remove their memories/make them speak, and released them into Hell as finished demons anyway. (This is a big no-no for torture demons to do... and if Grieve ever found out, he'd be forced to destroy the Twins, as well as their creator...)
- the alien race, Nasgu'e, that they were before their death is known to be obsessed with changing appearances (essentially their species is a bunch of fashionistas). Its part of their culture to continuously look different throughout their lives (usually by robotics and additions/reductions to their bodies)
- Their species do not force this concept on other alien races of the universe, however it is greatly appreciated to always wear/look a little different with every meeting. It's considered quite rude to look the same as the last time you encountered each other (not just clothing but hair and various features too).
- most of them are more cyborg/robotic than organic. There are very few organic beings of their original species left in the life cycle (if any at all) and they are urged to change this before death (or it will be done for them at the point of death).
- though the Nasgu'e have a specific look/design that they like to appear as when they designed their bodies, many of them take a shining to other species of the universe and may replicate other alien creature's appearance from time to time (as a fashion statement obviously). The Nasgu'es various worlds are filled to the brim with art shows, galleries, and fashion shows. Its basically like their sports. People really get into it.
- the gases on their original planet is thick as water - their original bodies, before they changed their appearances, have gill slits all over their bodies to process the 'air' they breath. Though many of them barely remember what their original bodies looked like, without having to refer to old pictures of themselves. They often look back at the previous shapes and forms in disgust (like one would seeing an old cringy photo of themselves). If you want to insult them, you will show them an old photo of themselves.
- the universe (realm) that the Nasgu'e reside within does not/has never had any physical interaction with demons, angels, or fae. The portal gates that lead out of the Death Realms have never lead to their realm before. They have been luckier than most realms in this regard. However it did not stop their ancient scientists from stumbling on the existence of purgatory in the findings. Of peering through a small gap in space time, to gaze upon life after death, they witnessed The Torture demons and Purifier Angels that lurk the waters of purgatory, awaiting them on the other side of death. Stricken with fear of what awaits them after their souls have moved on, the collective minds their government, scientists and religious heads shaped the future of all Nasgu'e, beginning the devotion to preserving life and cheating death at all costs.
- They are not a violent race but have been the start of many wars (though they do not see it this way and only attack when attacked themselves).
They will naturally search out peaceful solutions as best they can. And while their weaponry is almost unmatched within the expanse of their known cosmos they will only go to war to protect the lives of the enemy and that of their own.
Their wars are filled with un death. They do not often attack to kill, but simply to subdue and capture, in hopes of creating a peaceful outcome- eventually turning their enemies into allies by assimilating them into their cycles (basically turning the other species into robots and ensuring those robots are programmed to be friendly with their race, while generally keeping the rest of the species brain the same). They will only do this out of necessity and do not go around trying to assimilate just anyone. You have to be a pretty big threat for them to turn your entire species into robots (that's a lot of work!).
- The Nasgu'e inhabit many different planets around the universe (as their species outgrew its original planet and needed to expand) - with this being said, the birthrate of their species has slowed down to an almost full stop, since many of their species has lost most of their organic bodies, making it impossible to procreate in the natural way anymore. It will one day be impossible to create more of their species and those same souls will continue to relive/recycling old souls before their death, into new artificial bodies. This, until eventually they will all die out. An ironic end to a species so bent on preservation of all life.
- Since they are such an old species (having lived far longer than a they normally would) they tend to see other races as much smaller (but no less significant) than they are.
They view everyone as blissfully ignorant children compared to them, and they must be protected, even if they don't want it (because they are too young to understand that they need the Nasgu'es' help yet).
- Many wars have been fought against them by other inhabitants of the universe, because this way of thinking is not necessarily always a popular one. Many cultures view death as a beautiful thing and wish to remain in the natural order of life without alteration or intervention; but the Nasgu'e always win in the end.
- The Nasgu'e have many scouts that search for planets with with life and are are known to seek out dying species in the cosmos in hopes to preserve and prolong the existence of that world. If a planet is dying or a species is going extinct, drastic measures to preserve the existence of the remaining souls will be carried through.
Cooperation of the planet and its inhabitants is appreciated but not required.
Life must be preserved at all costs.
