Garanzo
Fire Lord
Garanzo is one of the four fire lords of Hell. Capable of conjuring fire magic when no other but he and his brothers can. His brothers being Zazoro, Phayne and Zathura. Garanzo lives like the mightiest of kings. Being the biggest and most physically violent of his siblings, Garanzo is feared by all demons in the Hell Realm.
He is appointed guardian of the Desert Gate. A portal that leads straight out of Hell (the realm of death) and into the various Life Realms that exist. Each of his brothers guard a gate in Hell, but his has been the most used in recent events. Despite the fact that the gates are now closed to him and his brothers. Their souls being too large and too heavy to safely traverse the now delicate bridges that they had previously abused. Once they were abundant with life, the fire lords able to jump through the portals and gather resources (and the cute little souls of humans) of life realms above. But after much use, the fire lords began to realize the Portal Gates' magic were not forever. Only smaller souls can jump through the portals now, and like hell will Garanzo and his brothers allow this to happen! After all, if they cannot leave the realm of the dead, NO ONE CAN.
Garanzo owns many servants, and lives as greedily as the mightiest king. His favourite servant being Syvern (Char), who he adores above all else. Possessively so.
His castle being large and ominous, sitting nestled within the sands of Hell's hottest desert. Those that venture to his castle, never come out again.
Why would one venture to his castle? - For the luxuries of course! Blood sport and good food is abundant in the city leading up to his castle. He holds marvelous festivals and entertainments abound for those that join under his reign. However, all of Garanzo's luxuries comes at a price. He is not a kind king, far from it in fact. Many of the occupants of his kingdom are not there by choice. Having simply needed shelter from the sweltering heat of the vast desert surrounding areas. The demon souls were forced to enter his fierce domain in order to 'survive'. Garanzo welcomes them with open arms, arms that maim and destroy to the whim of their owner.
While Garanzo's brother, Phayne, is obsessed with collecting all the objects and items from every realm, Garanzo does not bother with 'collecting'. Sure, things are nice to have- but he doesn't give a damn about that. He can break the stuff he owns, without a second thought. He knows he can acquire it all again at the wave of a hand. He is a king. Everything and everyone BELONGS to him! He doesn't need to have a special spot to hide it all away, like his brother seems to do. Should he desire something, all he needs to do is a have it delivered to his feet.
With this being said, Garanzo is a violent demon (if that is not evident already). He surrounds himself with fire and taunts his servants with freedom when he wishes to see them squirm (like all the time).
His beloved servant, Syvern, who he cherishes above all others, is with him always. By his side, on his lap or underneath him, he will never let him go. Syvern knows exactly how to calm him when he's enraged. Syvern knows exactly the right things to whisper in his ear when he needs them. He knows where to touch, he knows how to move. Garanzo is enthralled with him, and keeps him always close...
It is until the moment Syvern is gone, having escaped to the realms of life through the very portal Garanzo is assigned to guard, that the fire lord realizes what he's lost. The king who claims to own everything, does not have the one thing he wants most of all. What he needs.
Before Syvern's escape, Garanzo was able to curse the demon, casting flame magic into his eyes and blinding him to the realms of life he so wishes to see.
It is the one last link, the last mark Garanzo could place on his servant, to show the world that he still belongs to him. That when Syvern finally returns to him, Garanzo will bind him to the flames at his side for eternity. Until then however, Garanzo awaits in vicious aggravation. His ruling over the other demons of his kingdom far worse than before Syvern had ever left. The occupants of the castle continue to live in fear, every moment that Syvern is gone, and pray that the he will return soon, else there will be nothing left but fire kindled by broken souls...
Garanzo and Demon Zerek
There is a moment in time when Garanzo encounters Demon Zerek, who has traversed the desert sands in order to rescue Nala from the fire demon's keep.
Nala, being an angel creation that Garanzo's scouts discovered in the outer lining lands of his domain.
It only takes one glance to know that Zerek is an unfinished demon. A human soul in clever disguise! A human that some how escaped it's Torture Demon creator before having a chance to be finished.
For Garanzo used to own many human souls, when the portals to the life realms were in proper working order. They all were destroyed eventually... perhaps he had been too rough with them? Regardless of what had happened to the humans he'd owned in the past, he now had Zerek- a human soul he could dangle in the face of the ever elusive torture demon, Grieve, the one demon that he and his brothers have pursued since the 'dawn of time'.
This is a short lived, as Zerek and Nala slip through Garanzo's fingers, escaping through the portal to the life realm. Perhaps it was because of Garanzo's arrogant attitude, or perhaps it was intentional. As the last soul to have ever escaped him was his beloved Syvern. This moment does not make Garanzo as furious as one would think.
There is a plan brewing and one may come to believe that Garanzo had allowed the human and angel to escape, in order to see where they'd end up. For they would arrive in the same location as Syvern would have. It's only a matter of time before what he lost is returned and this is an instant Garanzo is willing to be patient for.
Garanzo and Zazoro
His favourite brother is Zazoro. The two get a long great, despite their constant bickering. Zazoro is the only other being that Garanzo sees as his equal (sort of).
Garanzo is certain in a one on one combat, he'd be able to take down his dainty little brother easily, but there had not been a battle between he and his brothers for many millennia.
