I. FUNDAMENTAL CONCEPTS

A. Realms - Definition and Types

What is a Realm? An entire universe/dimension. A single reality of that universe. Inside a Realm is an existence with many planets/worlds and lands, lush with various forms of life (or no sentient creatures at all, but life exists all the same). Within a single realm, are different points in time. It is the same realm, but depending on when you enter that world, the time era will be at a different stage. It could be an entirely different 'reality' or a different time period of that exact same Realm.

All realms float within the waters of Purgatory (where souls go to float after they die).

REALMS ARE LIKE SHIPS OUT AT SEA. THE SEA IS PURGATORY. WHEN YOU DIE, YOU FALL INTO PURGATORY AND AWAIT THE NEXT SHIP TO PASS BY (AKA: REINCARNATION)
Realms of Life

Any given realm where life exists. Typically referred to as 'the life realm' by those outside of the life realms. As realms of life are the only place where human souls (otherwise known as 'untouched' or 'Pure' souls) reside. Although there are plenty of realms where the main residents are not actually human, humans are the most prominent in these realms. Natural life realms do not contain (or rather, SHOULD NOT contain, demons or angels of any kind).

There are however, portals, heavily guarded in the two death realms, that lead directly into life realms, though these are unnatural occurrences. Portal holes will appear and disappear within life realms, and nobody's quite sure how it works, or why there are portal gates in death realms to begin with, but demons and angels have always taken advantage of these portals regardless.

Realms of Death

Any given realm where souls, after passing through purgatory, end up after death. There are only two realms where souls accumulate after death in a life realm: Heaven and Hell: the death realms. The final destination for every soul in existence. To get to heaven or hell, one must pass through purgatory first. Death realms do not originally contain water or trees/plants, but there are effects that may resemble these traits of a Life Realm.

II. PURGATORY - The In-Between

A. Nature of Purgatory

What is Purgatory? Every soul comes here eventually. Some more than others. The place where all the Realms and Pocket Realms converge, sailing endlessly across black shimmery waters of the in-between. You can enter and reincarnate into any world from Purgatory, if you can find it. Or the dark creatures that stalk these waters, in search of creating a new angel or demon, will find you first; bringing you to the final destination realms: Heaven and Hell.

Once a soul has been brought to one of the two Death Realms, there is no longer a chance to reincarnate into a new life realm creature. The soul will then begin the final process of its creation. A type of innocence will be lost during this process. And while some souls do not survive these excruciating and testing trials, those that do will reach their final soul's shape. Entering into Heaven or Hell a new creature, with no memories of its past existences; but utilizing those unique experiences for what they once were.

B. Entering Purgatory

Death in Life Realms: All living souls go to purgatory upon death in a life realm. Each soul that enters purgatory upon death in a life realm, is placed within their very own purgatory bubble. With little to no chances of meeting another soul as they wander about, for possibly eternity (if not found or discovers a new realm entrance). Those who die and return to purgatory, enter purgatory as their last body/being.

C. Reincarnation from Purgatory

While wandering the waters of purgatory, a soul may come across another realm, passing by. If they are lucky enough to reach the entrance before it disappears, they will be returned to a realm of life, and live life anew, otherwise known as being reincarnated. The entrance can look like anything, oftentimes it's a mirage of the Realm passing by. Other times it can be seen simply as a white light.

D. Purgatory Water

Another liquid that resembles water is Purgatory Water. Purgatory Water is much like regular life realm water, though exists within the space between life, death, and existence. It is pure creation and all that which exists has once passed over its surface. It is known to cure all wounds upon the soul, should the soul not be too damaged beyond repair.

E. Death Memories

These memories are extremely painful to remember, and often leave a soul in a frantic or confused state, close to a brief bout of insanity. It's akin to an intense cluster headache that will leave the victim unable to stand while it is happening. They will have hallucinations (or 'death memories') of their past lives, often confusing them to the point where they don't know who they are or what creature they are at the moment.

F. Navigating Purgatory

As a Living Being: It is possible to miss a pocket realm and jump straight into purgatory, thus becoming stuck unnaturally in the In-between. If you have a living body from a Life Realm, you will perpetually sink until your body dies.

III. SOULS - Types, States, and Properties

A. What is a Soul?

A soul is the very being and existence of a single entity. Once a soul is formed from the fabric of the universe, it creates a 'person'. Once a soul is in existence, it is malleable. Possible to be shaped into anything, under the right circumstances.

B. Soul Classifications

  • Pure Soul/Untouched Soul: Typically known as a human soul or a 'Lifer'. A perfect blank canvas.
  • New Soul: One that has never existed in a realm of life (still to be born).
  • Unfinished Soul: A soul in the process of becoming an Altered Soul. In its most moldable state.
  • Altered Soul/Finished Soul: A 'Finished soul'. A soul that's been tortured or purified to create a demon or an angel. Fixed state for eternity.
  • Broken Soul/Destroyed Souls: A Soul that has broken under immense physical/mental/magical pressure. Broken Souls become Things/objects used in the Death Realms.

C. Soul Strength and Durability

Strong Souls: Capable of receiving immense trauma without breaking. The more reincarnations one has, the more durable the soul becomes.
Fragile/Delicate Souls: Easily broken, perhaps even with the slightest attack against it. The fastest way to become a fragile soul is to practice magic while living.
Weak Souls: A Fragile and pathetic soul that is not Strong in most regards.

IV. MAGIC SYSTEMS

A. General Rules and Properties

Everyone can learn magic, but not everyone can handle its effects. Handling magic can make the soul fragile and corrupt. After death, souls become beacons for creatures in Purgatory searching for unique souls to "change," including Angels and Demons.

B. Types of Magic

  • Inner Magics: Originate from within (throat, blood, saliva, or breath). Often take the form of concentrated blasts or gases.
  • Passive Magics: Naturally part of a creature (e.g., thick skin, glowing eyes, heightened speed, healing).

C. Summoning

Pulling a being or soul from one place to another. Difficult; has heavy consequences on the soul and physical body. Calling: A special type of summoning to call direct blood relatives in times of need. Drains the user of all its magic temporarily.

E. Enchantments

Willful Enchantment Powers: Activated or deactivated at will (completely voluntary). Power level can be adjusted.
Unwillful Enchantment Powers: Always-on ability. Cannot be turned off.

Charm Enchantment: The most common form. Affects 1-2 people. Enthralls victim, creating deep love and obsession. The enchanter is now their entire world.
