An entire universe/dimension. A single reality of that universe. Inside a Realm is an existence with many planets/worlds and lands, lush with various forms of life (or no sentient creatures at all, but life exists all the same).

Within a single realm, are different points in time. It is the same realm, but depending on when you enter that world, the time era will be at a different stage. It could be an entirely different 'reality' or a different time period of that exact same Realm. All realms float within the waters of Purgatory (where souls go to float after they die).

REALMS ARE LIKE SHIPS OUT AT SEA. THE SEA IS PURGATORY. WHEN YOU DIE, YOU FALL INTO PURGATORY AND AWAIT THE NEXT SHIP TO PASS BY (AKA: REINCARNATION)

Any given realm where life exists. Typically referred to as 'the life realm' by those outside of the life realms. As realms of life are the only place where human souls (otherwise known as 'untouched' or 'Pure' souls) reside. Although there are plenty of realms where the main residents are not actually human, humans are the most prominent in these realms. Natural life realms do not contain (or rather, SHOULD NOT contain, demons or angels of any kind).

Any given realm where souls, after passing through purgatory, end up after death.

There are only two realms where souls accumulate after death in a life realm. Heaven and Hell: the death realms. The final destination for every soul in existence. To get to heaven or hell, one must pass through purgatory first.

REALMS THAT LIVE ON THE OUTSIDE OF OTHER REALMS.

IF A FULL REALM IS CONSIDERED A CONTINENT OUT AT SEA, THEN POCKET REALMS ARE THE SHIPS THAT SAIL THE WATERS OF PURGATORY. TO AND FROM DIFFERENT REALMS/WORLDS.

OCCASIONALLY DOCKING AT A FULL REALM; THUS BEING ABLE TO HOP BACK AND FORTH FROM THE POCKET REALM, TO FULL REALM AT WILL.

Pocket Realms can detach from the host realm, and reattach upon encountering another realm.

Once detached from a host realm, a pocket realm will drift through purgatory much like a regular realm does. But one of two differences separates a pocket realm from a normal realm: it's ability to reattach and de-attach itself upon passing another realm. The second difference, allows the occupants of the pocket realm to jump into other realms as they pass by (or enter the pocket realm as it passes a regular realm).

* Alternatively, it is possible to miss a pocket realm (or a normal realm from a pocket realm) and jump straight into purgatory, thus becoming stuck unnaturally in the In-between. If you have a living body from a Life Realm, you will perpetually sink until your body dies of lack of food (Purgatory will quench your thirst but will cause Death Memories), and you will be unable to gain footing atop the shimmering waters of Purgatory until you have shed your physical body and become a raw soul.

If you are a raw soul, one that has previously died and has no body, you will be able to pull yourself up upon the waters of Purgatory and as if on solid ground. Wandering around, looking for a way out of Purgatory.

A missed jump from a Realm to a Pocket Realm, falling into purgatory will lead the jumper into someone else's purgatory bubble, making it a possible chance they will meet another dead soul wandering in that purgatory bubble. This occurrence is highly unnatural and breaks the natural order of things. Should a Torture demon or Angel find you, they will be cross with you, but will not leave you stranded. They will help you find your way back into (a Life Realm IF you still have a living body and have yet to die. Or they will take you to Hell/Heaven, if you are a raw soul needing of creation.)

How Pocket Realms Are Formed

When Heaven and Hell were at war long ago, Heaven designed a machine/creature that would essentially flatten a realm to the ground. Annihilating all life as it is known, allowing it to form anew with time. However during these instances, small pieces of the life realm are chipped away. Breaking off the mother realm and floating into the waters of purgatory forever more, thus becoming a pocket realm.

OCCASIONALLY (it is a VERY rare occurrence but has been known to happen) - When a Life Realm (or the opposite death realm) is passing closely by the planet, the sky will indicate this by vague and translucent views of that particular Realm's 'Space', or planets... or if the realm is passing CLOSELY, one might even see the lands of a world)

If the realm is passing even CLOSER, this is VERY rare. at a 1% probability rate, but it is possible, The two realms (Death Realm, and whichever realm is passing by), will converge.

IF there is a planet in the passing realm, they too can collide with the Death Realm planet

In this instant, it is possible to get caught in the 'wind current' or even willingly world hop, much like one does on a Pocket Realm attached to a Host Realm.

Every soul comes here eventually. Some more than others.

The place where all the Realms and Pocket Realms converge, sailing endlessly across black shimmery waters of the in-between.

You can enter and reincarnate into any world from Purgatory, if you can find it. Or the dark creatures that stalk these waters, in search of creating a new angel or demon, will find you first; bringing you to the final destination realms: Heaven and Hell.

Once a soul has been brought to one of the two Death Realms, there is no longer a chance to reincarnate into a new life realm creature. The soul will then begin the final process of its creation.

A type of innocence will be lost during this process. And while some souls do not survive these excruciating and testing trials, those that do will reach their final soul's shape. Entering into Heaven or Hell a new creature, with no memories of its past existences; but utilizing those unique experiences for what they once were.

These Death Realms are where the Newling demon/angel shall exist for the remainder of their existence.

All living souls go to purgatory upon death in a life realm.

Each soul that enters purgatory upon death in a life realm, is placed within their very own purgatory bubble. With little to no chances of meeting another soul as they wander about, for possibly eternity (if not found or discovers a new realm entrance).

Those who die and return to purgatory, enter purgatory as their last body/being.

In their time in purgatory, a soul will drift/wander. Sometimes happening upon the knowledge of their death, or sometimes without ever realizing they have died.

A soul will walk in a numb haze until passing into a new life, experiencing a death memory (which may destroy them as it puts their raw soul under great stress) or being discovered by a purgatory searcher (Torture Demon or Purifier Angel).

While wandering the waters of purgatory, a soul may come across another realm, passing by. If they are lucky enough to reach the entrance before it disappears, they will be returned to a realm of life, and live life anew, otherwise known as being reincarnated.

The entrance can look like anything, often times its a mirage of the Realm passing by. Other times it can be seen simply as a white light. Most souls know what it is, even if they don't understand how/what they know, the soul will head towards the reincarnation of a new life regardless. Like a moth to a flame.

If, however, they encounter a Searcher Angel, or a Torture Demon before they can reincarnate, they will likely find themselves taken to a death realm. Where they will have their soul warped into either an angel or a demon, eventually being released into a death realm for the remainder of their eternal existence. They will not see Purgatory again (unless something strange happens and they escape their respective Death Realm 'illegally').

Reincarnation Tendencies

If a person was a cat 15 times in their past lives, they are more likely to be a cat again upon their next reincarnation. As if there is a gravitational pull to being a cat. However their soul may get pulled into a different direction if there is a closer 'gravitational pull' when they are being reincarnated.

If a soul is taken form/reincarnated as a demon in a life realm (a baby demon is born that is not created from a soul in Hell by a torture demon) the soul may be more likely to be reincarnated as an enchanter demon - or creature with enchanting abilities, if they've been a specific set of creatures in their past lives.

The term 'cat CREATURE' or 'dog CREATURE', 'snake CREATURE' is used loosely here, as a term that the being that they were reincarnated as, may not be an actual CAT as we know it, but rather, an alien species with catlike qualities.

These memories are extremely painful to remember, and often leave a soul in a frantic or confused state, close to a brief bout of insanity. It's akin to an intense cluster headache that will leave the victim unable to stand while it is happening.

These Death Memories can last a long time, depending on how many times that soul has died and been reincarnated.

They will have hallucinations (or 'death memories') of their past lives, often confusing them to the point where they don't know who they are or what creature they are at the moment. This can also take on a physical event as well, as the body (of the soul) will warp and bend, changing briefly to the shape of the creature/person that they once were. It is possible to get stuck in a half jumbled shape of all your lives after a death memory is finished, but it is more likely your mind will slowly return to your most recent life's body.

The death memories will eventually fade, returning the soul back to normal, until they remember themselves as they recently were.

After their first initial Death Memory, they may have returning memories of their past selves and lives, they are more like distant dreams if anything. And their personality and body etc. are of the last thing they died as.

Purgatory Water

Another liquid that resembles water is Purgatory Water. Purgatory Water is much like regular life realm water, though exists within the space between life, death, and existence. It is pure creation and all that which exists has once passed over its surface. It is known to cure all wounds upon the soul, should the soul not be too damaged beyond repair. Another feature of purgatory water is bringing upon the occurrence of Death Memories.

However it is not easy to come by Purgatory water within a dead realm and must be extracted specially from the waters of Purgatory outside the realms. Because of this, only the most powerful or resourceful of creatures can obtain this substance and it is highly coveted for special purposes only, though it is easier to retrieve than it is true water.

Effects When Consumed

It is known that purgatory water (that is taken outside of Purgatory into a Life or Death realm) should it be consumed or bathed in, will release these Death Memories of past lives (should the individual have any past lives) into the person who's consumed/touched it. The memories are not as painful if you have a physical Life Realm body, than if you're just a raw soul (no body).

After death, souls become beacons for creatures in Purgatory searching for unique souls to "change," including Angels and Demons.

A soul is the very being and existence of a single entity. Once a soul is formed from the fabric of the universe, it creates a 'person'. Person is a loose term, as it could mean any creature or being with the potential to exist in any single realm, be it an animal, a fae, nymph, original angels, original demons, and of course, humans.

Once a soul is in existence, it is malleable. Possible to be shaped into anything, under the right circumstances.

Pure Soul/Untouched Soul

Typically known as a human soul or a 'Lifer'. A soul that's never encountered a Torture Demon or a Purification Angel, and is thereby entirely in its perfect and natural state; a perfect blank canvas for anyone to change or warp, should they get a hold of the soul.

New Soul

A new soul is one that has never existed in a realm of life (still to be born). Often they have not found a Life Realm to jump to, and are endlessly walking the waters of Purgatory. Or a New Soul can also be one that has only existed once in a realm of life (Born once) and has yet to die. There are few of these left in existence.

Unfinished Soul

A soul in the process of becoming an Altered Soul. In its most moldable state. Able to take on the effects and designs of any environment, given an appropriate length of time in one given area or under any given circumstances. The soul will slowly and continuously change (in appearance as well as magically) to adapt to the environments that surround it.

In an ever changing state, until dubbed a 'completed' by the magics of a Torture Demon or Purifier Angel (Altered Soul). Most often, an unfinished soul (being warped by a Torture Demon) is considered a Corrupt Soul (by the Angels). This is the ideal state for an angel to steal a soul away from the Torture Demon and begin safely working towards making the soul into an angel. Though this is uncommon, as souls being worked on by Torture demons are done in complete privacy, and would require an angel to know where to find a Torture Demon in the first place.

*A Corrupt Soul (As called by Angels) does not necessarily need to be halfway to becoming a demon, and can still fall under the Pure Soul category - but merely have heightened magic abilities (due to practicing magic while in Life or having been a magical creature such as a Fae at some point during that soul's existence.)

Altered Soul/Finished Soul

A 'Finished soul'. A soul that's been tortured or purified to create a demon or an angel. Once the soul is given the 'Complete/Finished' status by its creator, the soul will no longer change. It is now a fixed state for eternity.

The Altered soul will be released into Heaven or Hell and live out the rest of their existence in one of those Death Realms. An Altered soul, should it be 'killed' or maimed, will always find a way back to its original Finished state. Should a limb be severed or the body damaged somehow, it will always repair itself in time. This can be a painful and gruesome process as the body puts itself back together or regrows a limb from nothing. Some souls are faster healers than others. It is highly approved of to be a soul that can heal quickly. It does not always indicate soul strength, but it is a respected feature to have among the citizens of Heaven and Hell.

While a Finished Soul, by definition, cannot be warped any further for the rest of existence, once a soul becomes Broken, they reenter a malleable state. This is due to the fact that their bodies can no longer heal and return to the finished state. They are now able to be crushed/torn/twisted/pulled and form into any objects used in the Death Realms. Torn apart and used as fuel or other creative uses by the souls still in existence.

Broken Soul/Destroyed Souls

A Soul that has broken under immense physical/mental/magical pressure.

Many souls that are not strong enough to become an Angel or a Demon, eventually become a broken soul. Unable to complete the perilous trials of being warped during the Altering process.

These souls have become obsolete. Vacant ever staring faces. Empty inside and out and will never move or form thought again (for the rest of time). A Broken Soul is literally destroyed from any further existence.

*A soul can be broken after being completed as well, but it's much harder to do so, it's plenty possible and happens all the time while in Heaven or Hell. (Very rarely while in a Life Realm, however.)

The soul is shattered, and the shell of what the creature used to be, will look on through hallowed, glossy eyes (should they even have eyes anymore). They may still appear 'alive' (blinking, or twitching/breathing/slightly moving features), but they will have an empty look to them, like they are no longer lucid or responsive.

Broken Souls become Things. They are no longer seen as individuals, but merely items to be used for various things in a Death Realm.

These souls are often used as food (though dead realm creatures need no sustenance to survive and merely eat for enjoyment) or something along the lines of furniture/weapons/buildings (objects to use in various ways), in the Dead Realms. Literally everything that is seen in Hell, from the ground/grains of sand to the clouds in the sky, the walls of buildings and structures, weapons, clothing and food, are all once broken souls over the endless strings of time.

Strong Souls

A strong soul is one that is capable of receiving immense trauma without breaking. It might also mean it is a soul capable of being powerful magically, or physically. However, a Strong Soul can also be a weak individual (magically, mentally or physically or even all three), but simply this soul can take much damage before finally breaking under the pressure. They are good punching bags. A soul can become a Strong Soul if that soul has lived multiple lives in a Life Realm as any living creature. The more reincarnations one has, the more durable the soul becomes.

*If a soul has few reincarnations, this does not make that soul a Fragile or Weak soul by default. But simply being, the more reincarnations= the more armor is padded onto the soul.

Fragile/Delicate Souls

A fragile soul is one that can be easily broken, perhaps even with the slightest attack against it. A soul that is constantly teetering on the edge of breaking and surviving. It is possible to be a fragile soul while simultaneously being a powerful individual. A fragile soul merely indicates that it is easy to 'kill' or bring to a breaking point should enough lightly used pressure be applied. Fragile souls should not be underestimated, as they still may be able to fight back with immense formidably - be it with magics, raw strength or mental manipulations, but simply cannot take much physical (or spiritual) damage before breaking under pressure.

These types of souls are like short distance sprinters and cannot run a full marathon without taking a break. (Metaphorically speaking) To become a fragile soul, it can depend on the types of reincarnations that one has had in their life times. (Smaller creatures, like birds or prey animals can sometimes lead a soul to become fragile. Or certain events that took place to the soul while in Life may also have effects on the soul, altering how durable it is over time.

However the fastest way to become a fragile soul is to practice magic while living.

Magic will brighten the soul (the more magic a soul uses, the brighter and more delicate it becomes. When entering Purgatory, their soul will be 'bright' like a beacon, drawing any Angel or Demon by their presence.) Too much magic used in life, while it may not be noticeable when one has a living body, in Purgatory, the soul body may have marks or blemishes that will not go away no matter what is done.

Weak Souls

A Fragile and pathetic soul that is not Strong in most regards. These souls are often the most abused in demon society, should they survive long enough to become so. Most weak souls do not survive the transformation into a demon or an angel. These souls require the most delicate hands to be warped into angel or demon.

These souls are thought to be unbreakable, no matter how much pressure the soul is put under, they will never 'die' the second death.

5 souls thought to make up the Dark Master's Soul

One original Torture Demon existed before all others.

Four creatures, otherwise known as Fire Lords, who refer to themselves as Demons, but aren't quite sure if that's truly what they are, came into existence shortly after, or at the same time as the original Torture Demon.

The Fire Lords are certain they were the only four that existed first. The original Torture Demon (Grieve), existed moments before the Fire Lords, but they will not believe that. Grieve is unaware if there are more Original Souls apart from him and the Fire Lords... For that reason, it is not known if there is an original soul on the side of Angels.

Torture Demon (Grieve): The original Torture Demon, existed moments before the Fire Lords. Unaware if there are more Original Souls apart from him and the Fire Lords.

Fire Lords: Only four exist, believed to be the first souls ever. They search for Grieve above all else, but will never find him.

Everyone can learn magic, but not everyone can handle its effects. Those that can handle the effects, may not realize their soul becoming more and more fragile, and more and more corrupt.

Handling magic can make the soul fragile and corrupt.

After death their soul will be like a beacon to any of the creatures that scour Purgatory searching for particularly unique souls to 'change'- be it Angels and Demons alike.

After death, souls become beacons for creatures in Purgatory searching for unique souls to "change," including Angels and Demons.

The more a soul uses magic in its lifetime, the brittler it becomes in the after life, however, the more powerful it also becomes. Many Angels are glass canons for this reason.

Inner Magics

Originate from within (throat, blood, saliva, or breath).

Magics that come from within. Often in the form of a concentrated heated blast, erupting from inside the throat and exiting out of the mouth. Other forms can be magics inside the blood, saliva or breath, such as poison and gases.

Often take the form of concentrated blasts or gases.

Passive Magics (or Outer Magics)

Naturally part of a creature, not technically magical.

Magics that are naturally just a part of the creature. (not to be confused with passive enchantments). These magics, though not technically fully magic and simply a genetic strength (usually demons or angels). This can range from thick skin abilities (That require a ridiculous amount of strength and effort to cut the flesh of the ones with this ability) to glowing eyes that help see in the darkest depths of the world (that turn on and off of their own accord).

Examples:

  • Thick skin requiring extraordinary effort to cut
  • Glowing eyes for sight in darkness
  • Heightened speed, hearing, vision, and healing (common in demons)

A common trait for demons is the heightened ability to see and hear better than other creatures. Speed is often faster and healing processes (though they differ) are often faster as well.

Specialty Magics

Unique magic an individual is born with or gains naturally.

Typically a special magic that an individual is born with, or is naturally learned or gained.

Summoning

Pulling a being or soul from one place to another.

As expected, summoning is the act of pulling a thing/soul from one place and dropping it in another.

Difficult; has consequences for the soul and physical body.

Depending on what is being moved and where, this is one of the most difficult magics to pull off (successfully). There are heavy consequences on the soul and physical body, especially depending on the user and their magical skill levels and personal strength.

Calling: Special Summoning Type

Summoning direct blood relatives (parent, sibling, etc.) in times of need.

Particularly with Demons, Angels and Fae, it is possible to summon a direct blood relative from one place to another. This is considered 'CALLING' and it is a type of magic that is usually only tapped into when in high stress situations. The act of Calling drains the user of all its magic for the time being, putting them into a weakened state. The call enables the relative/parent/sibling etc. to locate the Caller like a beacon, no matter where in the realm they are. It does not necessarily pull them through space (depending on the strength of the one summoning), but allows them to find the other swiftly.

Weakens the caller temporarily.

Depends on strength of blood link and stored soul magic.

Uncommon between different realms.

It should be noted that it is uncommon for a Calling to be heard between different realms, but is not unheard of. It depends on how strong the blood link is, and how powerful the soul magic the Caller has stored within.

It is said that should an unfinished Soul be separated from its Torture Demon (or Purifier Angel), the individual may be able to call out to them, in times of need, allowing them to be reunited.

Charm Enchantment

The most common form of enchantment. Usually effective to one or two people at a time, depending on the training/will power of those affected.

Affects 1–2 people at a time.

Enthralls victim, creating deep love and obsession.

Charm enchantments completely enthrall the victim and will draw them in closer to the enchantment user, ultimately falling deeply into a deep settled love, much akin to a dazed fever. The pupil's of those affected will be greatly dilated, and the eyes glossed over. The enchanter is now their entire world. They will do whatever they are told to do, in hopes to please the enchanter. Sometimes they will act on their own, doing all that they can to make the enchanter happy. The thought of falling out of favor with the enchanter will be like death, and sometimes, if the enchantment is strong enough, will lead to those affected taking drastic measures of self harm or some way to right the wrong they did to the object of their obsessive love.

Victims' pupils dilate; may act to please the enchanter.

May result in drastic measures if favor is lost.

Strengthened by touch; conversation may suffice.

Those affected need only be within a specific radius of the enchanter, though the enchantment may be made stronger by touch. Though the victim may only need to be engaged in conversation with the enchanter to become fully affected. The enchantment may be gradual and easy to miss without the proper training to identify when an enchantment is being set. The enchantment may start off with a simple question, regarding the victim's intentions against the enchanter. "You wouldn't hurt me, would you? You want me to be happy, right?"

Resistable by trained demon hunters/slayers, depending on approach.

There are ways of guarding against Charm enchantments, typically demon hunters and demon slayers will be able to successfully fight against an enchantment, depending on the power behind the enchantment and the methods they approach when dealing with a specific enchantment, though it's very easy to say or do the wrong thing, completely undoing the work that goes into escaping or reducing the effects of an enchantment.

Passive Enchantment

Usually effective by touch.

Effective by touch.

Upon contact with the Enchanter's skin, the one affected will feel an inescapable calmness, and total relaxation. Their body/head feels heavy, their heart rate/breathing will dramatically reduce to a slow rhythmic pace, but their mind may be fully active and completely aware of their surroundings, and yet their body will not respond as such. Those affected will return completely to normal the moment the enchantment user releases their touch. The moment contact is broken, the body will catch up with the pace it is meant to be, this sudden change within the body can often overwhelm the one affected for many moments before returning to a normal state.

Induces calmness, heavy body, slow heart/breathing, yet mind fully aware.

Ends immediately upon breaking contact.

Healing Enchantment

By touch or proximity.

Typically done by touch (or simply by being in close proximity to the user), and upon release, the enchantment is no longer in effect.

Forms:

1. Trick the body into believing healed (temporary, ends upon leaving radius)

Tricking the body into believing it's been healed. The enchanter may be able to use this ability while being in a specific radius of the one affected. The user will heal quickly, either fully, or enough to slow the effects of a wound, but once the one affected leaves the enchantment radius, their old wounds will return, slowly or quickly, depending on the intentions of the enchantment user. Example: a stab wound heals within a day. The user's enchantment diminishes, and the stab wound returns swiftly after. This enchantment can be used with ill intent, or with the intent of getting the one wounded to medical aid in time before death takes them.

2. Pain reduction (pain returns amplified upon release)

Pain reduction. Upon touch, all forms of pain and discomfort are depleted. Upon release, however, the pain returns tenfold, with a vengeance. As if the pain had been held back by an invisible dam. The longer the pain is reduced upon touch, the more pain the victim will be in upon release. Example: Breaking a victim's legs while under this enchantment, and threatening to let go of the victim, is often an enjoyable form of torment demons with this ability put to good use.

3. Sleep induction (mind and body unconscious, eyes may remain open)

Putting the mind to sleep. Typically done by touch to the forehead. Puts the victim into a dreamless sleep. Their eyes may be open and body standing, but their mind is unconscious. Alternatively, this enchantment can also effectively put the entire person to sleep, mind and body at once, at the will of the enchanter.

Angels only.

Only ever seen in Angels.

Rare and difficult to harness.

It is known that Angels with purification abilities are used to create more angels, but purification abilities are incredibly rare to discover and harness, thus, not many angels exist.

Used to create more angels.

Alters the soul of any infected individual (finished, unfinished, or beginning souls).

Purification changes the very soul of those it infects, regardless of whether the soul is finished, unfinished, or just begun. A new soul is easiest to infect (but uncommon for the soul to survive), even the darkest of souls can be changed overtime (and have a stronger chance of surviving the process), once purification has been inflicted upon them.

Two souls with magic can temporarily merge into one powerful magic entity.

As mentioned prior in the Fae's Familiar section, two souls can be 'compatible' with one another. This is not limited to Fae folk, but to all creatures with at least an ounce of magic in their soul.

More common in Hell and Heaven, but not limited to them.

This is more often encountered within the Hell realm and Heaven realms, but is not limited to such.

Magic compatibility is when two souls of intertwining magic strength, work together to become one magic entity for a short moment. These two souls, having a magic while different, connect as one momentarily to become far more powerful than before.

Fae typically bond with a single familiar; Angels and Demons can connect with multiple souls at once, though bonds are less strong.

Unlike Fae, who typically connects with a singular familiar in their lifetime, Angels and Demons can connect with many and not just one at a time (though the bond is not as strong as a fae's single bond, because it is more condensed).

Dead souls living in a death realm.

Angels and Demons are the same things: Dead souls living in a Death Realm.

Souls can be based on past life incarnations before becoming an angel or a demon, and also dependant on their living soul's tendencies (e.g., multiple cat lives → more likely to be cat-like again, and have catlike features and personalities in their final after life as an angel or demon).

Reincarnation can be influenced by nearby "gravitational pulls" from other souls.

If a person was a cat 15 times in their past lives, they are more likely to be a cat again upon their next reincarnation. As if there is a gravitational pull to being a cat. However their soul may get pulled into a different direction if there is a closer 'gravitational pull' when they are being reincarnated. For example- their soul may be enroute to becoming a cat, but a stronger pull from nearby will call their soul into that of a … dog… a demon… a human etc.

If a soul is taken form/reincarnated as a demon in a life realm (a baby demon is born that is not created from a soul in Hell by a torture demon) the soul may be more likely to be reincarnated as an (example) enchanter demon - or creature with enchanting abilities, if they've been a specific set of creatures in their past lives. For example: enchanter demons (souls that are reincarnated into an enchanter demon) may share similar past selves- such as a cat creature three times, and a spider two times and a snake once etc.

The term 'cat CREATURE' or 'dog CREATURE', 'snake CREATURE' is used loosely here, as a term that the being that they were reincarnated as, may not be an actual CAT as we know it, but rather, an alien species with catlike qualities. All realms contain planets and space like any other, and these creatures may not be the exact same as the creatures we know on our Earth, but it is entirely possible to be reincarnated into a different world, or time era with various creatures that may resemble features and quirks of that of a cat or a dog, or a serpent of some sort, etc.

With this being said, many demons that are created from torture demons, may not have originally been a human taken from purgatory, but instead a creature, or an alien species that is unknown to us- resulting in an unusually formed demon. - it is also possible to fuse together two souls to create one, but this is not often done, as it is easier to break the souls that it happens to.

Demons are not inherently good or evil. They are merely once living souls that were bent and warped into their final forms of existence: Demons of hell.

Teach and create the final permanent form of a soul.

Torture demons aren't necessarily evil, but rather, creatures that 'teach' and 'create' the final permanent form of a single soul. However, by doing so, it requires what may be seen as 'torture' to those it happens to, and thus they are dubbed Torture Demons. What they do is technically simply their job, many do get pleasure out of their work, simply because they too were beings tortured into existence, and that is part of their demon culture now.

"Torture" is part of their cultural role; pleasure may be derived due to their own personalities. But its not supposed to be that way.

Only Grieve and the Fire Lords exist without prior torture or creation. They are of the Universe.

The only demon that was not tortured into existence, is the Fire Lords and Grieve. Grieve created all other torture demons, as he is the only one who can create another one of his kind. The Fire Lords search for Grieve above all else; but they will never find him.

Fire Lords

Four in number, highest authority in Hell.

Only four exist, believed to be the first souls ever. They search for Grieve above all else, but will never find him.

The Fire Lords are certain they were the only four that existed first.

Four creatures, otherwise known as Fire Lords, who refer to themselves as Demons, but aren't quite sure if that's truly what they are, came into existence shortly after, or at the same time as the original Torture Demon.

Grieve

Creator of all other torture demons and most of the demons in hell since the dawn of time, cannot be found by Fire Lords or anyone.

The original Torture Demon (Grieve), existed moments before the Fire Lords, but they will not believe that.

Grieve is unaware if there are more Original Souls apart from him and the Fire Lords...

How Angels are Made

For an angel to easily be made, a soul must be already varying degrees of 'corrupt', in order to become pure enough to be turned into an Angel.

A corrupt soul may have dealt with heavy magics in their lifetime or are already halfway through the process of becoming a demon (in which case they are protected by their Torture Demon safely in the Hell Realm and out of an Angel's natural reach) or in some very rare cases, they can already be a full demon.

(An angel may find a Full demon (Hellspawn) in a life realm somewhere, and grab them, bringing them up to heaven to begin the purification process. Though, angel's capable of purifying are few and far between, they focus their search to Purgatory, as it is unlikely to find a Hellspawn in a Life Realm easily.

Challenges in Angel Creation

Purifying a soul that is already a Pure Soul (AKA a human being or 'untouched soul'), puts too much strain on the soul and often is the cause of its own destruction. But it is still a possibility if done delicately enough.

It takes an extremely long time to create an angel due to the search for such unique and powerful souls. Therefore, the amount of demons there are in existence, vastly outweighs the amount of angels in existence.

Purifier Creation

A purifier angel can only be created by capturing a Torture Demon of Hell while out in Purgatory and Purifying that soul into that of an angel. Or by sheer luck in finding a soul strong enough to survive the process of being created into a Purifier from scratch. For this reason, there are very few Purifier Angels in existence, and thus not as many angels being made as there are demons.

Demons

Possessive, need to "have" love.

Yeah maybe that's the way an angel loves. Because with demons 'love' it's very possessive and the need to HAVE it

Angels

Protective; ensure the survival and success of the loved one, independent of themselves.

Where as maybe an angels form of love is "make sure this thing survives on, even after me. It must remain at the top and untouchable from all else // but not me

Structure

The death realms are essentially just one 'planet' floating atop Purgatory's waters.

The death realms are so immensely vast, that no one has ever reached all four corners of it.

Both death realms are 'flat' worlds (surrounded by The Fade/The Wall)

Celestial Bodies

There are 2 suns in each realm. Suns orbit the planet at different speeds creating varying degrees of heat for the inhabitants of the worlds during each day.

Two Moons in Heaven. Much like Hell, there are 'Blink Days'.

Sky and Atmosphere

The sky can be a vast array of colours depending where you are on the planet, but it is always slightly translucent enough to see the dark blackness of Purgatory's shimmering lights (speckles that essentially look like tons of stars)

During Convergence

While the convergence is happening, anyone who might get caught in the current will be thrown to and from, purgatory, and both the converging realms as if passing through water and air back and forth.

It is very hectic and likely will kill or destroy that soul if they are not particularly strong enough to withstand this special moment.

Duration and Aftermath

The passing of realms can last from a few seconds, to days or months in each respective realm. (really depends how big the life realm is that's passing by the Death Realm)

After the converge, anyone who was able to hold on to the passing realm, will be free of the current and stuck in whichever realm they were able to hang on to while the event happened.

There was a great war between heaven and hell when one of these converges happened, long ago. Each realm wishing to gain control of the other. The two realms both lost greatly, but Hell most of all. The Angels crafted high tech destroyer units that decimated many of Hell's once great cities, leveling them to dry desert wastes. Many of the cities lost whatever high tech they had in this instant, leaving them to rebuild using the remains of the old world.

Heaven counts this as their win, but The Fire Lords refuse to admit they lost, even at the expense of their own Portal Gates and cities. They see this as merely a setback and plan to retaliate the next time Heaven and Hell pass by each other.

Many of the citizens fear this moment, because they are the ones that have to rebuild the world every time the Fire Lords make war on Heaven. It is a silent, but common knowledge that Hell will not last another battle with Heaven like the last one.

Water is only available by retrieving it from a life realm. In Heaven or Hell, water is the most precious substance of all and is practically nonexistent or even known of, apart from a select few. It is the essence of life. It is the purest substance and as such is highly coveted by Angels in particular.

Death realms do not originally contain water or trees/plants, but there are effects that may resemble these traits of a Life Realm.

Angels and Water Acquisition

Angels of Heaven have been known to enter life realms with the intent of 'borrowing' an abundance of water from the environments. Often going too far as to completely drain the world(s) of all its water- thus destroying the life on the planets and ultimately those in the entire realm.

Another substance similar to water in the life realms is 'Red Draught'. Sometimes known as 'Mage's Liquor' or 'Soul Tonic'. Or just simply, 'Red'.

This is a substance that exists within the dead realms, heaven and hell, though is particularly more common in Hell than it is in Heaven. For obvious reasons:

Composition

Essentially, it is the liquified blood and body parts/organs of previously broken souls. It contains a high consistency of soul magic, but is also highly addictive and can cause a terrible illness and discomfort if not received once the body fully depends on its frequent consumption.

Effects and Uses

In small doses however, it is unharmful and can be enjoyed depending on the individual's particular tastes (or how it's made).

The benefits to this liquid quenches thirst in extreme dry climates and gives a boost of energy/magics where there may be none left.

It has been known to aid in curing wounds and trauma quicker than the normal healing process of the individual's body.

It is also sometimes used in celebration, or served much like alcohol.

Availability

It can be easy to make, should you have access to a broken soul and some way of grinding the body up into liquid. But for this reason it is still priced higher on the market as a luxury item. It is a common item to use for incentive or as a gift. It is at least easier to come by than purgatory water for those that require its benefits.

Physical Properties

The death realms are essentially just one 'planet' floating atop Purgatory's waters.

The death realms are so immensely vast, that no one has ever reached all four corners of it.

Both death realms are 'flat' worlds (surrounded by The Fade/The Wall)

The planet is flat (surrounded by The Fade)

Celestial Bodies

Hell Has 2 Suns

Dual suns (Day Eyes) and heat cycles

The two suns are often referred to as "The Day Eyes"

The two moons are often referred to as "The Night Eyes"

Sky and Atmosphere

Sky colors and Purgatory's shimmering lights visible

The sky can be a vast array of colours depending where you are on the planet, but it is always slightly translucent enough to see the dark blackness of Purgatory's shimmering lights (speckles that essentially look like tons of stars)

Time Structure

  • Hell Has 2 Suns
  • Hell has 72 hours in a day
  • Typically 30 days a month
  • 6 months in a year
  • 180 days in a year
  • The planet is flat (surrounded by The Fade)

Celestial Bodies

The two suns are often referred to as "The Day Eyes"

The two moons are often referred to as "The Night Eyes"

Daily Cycle

2 suns up = Full Light

Hottest time of day and the most demons favour sleeping during this time.

1 sun goes down= First Night (technically still one sun still in the sky, but it is a bit darker).

It is not uncommon for demons to start their day during this time.

2nd sun goes down= True Night (darkness)

This is the busiest part of the day for most demons as the heat becomes bearable to be out in.

* Most days the moons are out during the day anyway, but they are especially bright when both the suns have set for True Night.

Czar - Fire Lords

The kings of Hell - Only four exist. No other demon is of higher standing power than they. All other demons are their underlings (servants/slaves) and must serve them, without question and no matter the cost. They are respected and feared by every creature in the realm.

Mogul - Higher Ups

Strong powered demons with immense aura. These demons are given full respect, and a wide berth when a lower class demon is in their presence. Higher ups have authority under weaker demons and it is simply an unspoken truth. These are demons that govern gangs and own territories within Hell. Sometimes these demons are appointed locations to watch over by a specific Fire Lord (in which case they are given even classier respect), but others work on their own terms.

Denizen - Common Folk

An average folk demon. Anyone can be called a denizen, but there are simply other names to call each other, depending on the social standing. If you don't know the social standing, one can refer to someone as a denizen, but must be wary because this could also be an insult to a higher standing demon, if not used with great care. Denizens are the ones that do the majority of the work within the towns or can be seen roaming the barren wastelands of the Hell Realm. Neither weak, nor strong, it is simply survival of the fittest. Oftentimes, Denizens will fight one another over a weaker demon (or even one of their own social standing) in order to hold power over another and thus, increase their social standings. With enough social status and power/underlings acquired, they can then be dubbed a Higher up. Though with each rising social standing, the demon becomes a greater and greater target for other demons in the land to seek out.

Newling - Lowest Standing

Demons freshly created and released into Hell by a torture demon. they are considered weak, or will be treated with less respect as a higher social standing, simply because of their age. A newling, should they be foolish enough to speak their age to another demon, will be highly sought after (easy prey) for those that wish to increase their social standing. Newling demons learn very quickly to be silent of their status and stay out of the stronger demon's way.

* A Newling demon may be more powerful than a Denizen or at the level of a Mogul but will still be considered low and weak on the scale- until they have gathered enough of a reputation and proven their power to change their social status.

a'Naskii - Translates roughly to, 'Protected One'

Or can also translate to something like, 'beloved slave/servant/pet/object of affection/obsession'

But should be noted that there is no exact translation outside of Hell speech.

Special, cherished minion; obsession-like bond or one sided; highly protected or abused depending on owner. a'Naskii does not always wish to be one, or love its captor.

Stronger demons can take on one or two of these at a time. It's unusual to have more than one at any given time. One is usually preferred/normal. This is due to how much attention is given to an a'Naskii. It's basically an obsession over that soul and consumes the one who owns it.

A demon may have many minions or underlings who do their bidding or work for them, these are expendable, but an a'Naskii is a demon that is particularly special to them and rarely leaves their side.

They are well protected from being destroyed by the other demons of Hell, but can likewise be also horribly abused. It really depends on the one who owns them and how they treat their 'things'.

The word ' a'Naskii ' can also be used as a heavy insult, to insinuate a soul is pathetic and weak without someone stronger to protect them.

a'Naskaa

The demon who owns an a'Naskii and desires to keep it, for various reasons or needs.

The word ' a'Naskaa ' is used by the a'Naskii when referring to their protector. You become an a'Naskaa when you have an a'Naskii.

The Fade

A white mist that shrouds the borders of Hell. No one goes in, for no one ever comes out. All but the Fire Lords, however.

The only four demons capable of lighting the way through the dense mystery of an Unknown. Yet, their senseless greed to obtain anything that can grovel at their feet, has blinded them to what they truly seek.

Claiming to have found nothing in the Fade's ghostly haze, they've turned back to settle on their thrones in Hell. The fade is nothing and therefore, there is nothing.

They will not bother the journey again.

What Lies Beyond

Behind the fade lies the ruins of an ancient city. Silver towers long since eaten by the red soils of Hell, and only the hollow shells remain now. High up, near the top of a slanted skyscraper and continuing down a hallway with windows long since shattered, a lone red door stands tightly shut. Should you need him, the creature that lives inside will open his lair to you; but you knew that already, didn't you?

The sector of Hell that resides under Zathura's control. In recent years many of the denizens that exist across Hell have noticed the absence of their once mighty and present king.

Zathura has not been seen in many, many years. His castle has been sealed off, and many wonder if he even lives there anymore at all... But if not in there, where?

While the control of the other three Fire Lords has reached into Zathura's domain to pick up the pieces of his seeming absence, the cities residing within this once great kingdom have fallen into lawless ruin.

Many demons seek this domain now when they are running from a pursuer, or towards their own freedom.

Physical Properties

The death realms are essentially just one 'planet' floating atop Purgatory's waters.

The death realms are so immensely vast, that no one has ever reached all four corners of it.

Both death realms are 'flat' worlds (surrounded by The Fade/The Wall)

Much like Hell, the planet is flat (surrounded by The Wall (Similar to The Fade, in Hell))

Celestial Bodies

The Suns are referred to as Azious and Gabrious (Azi and Gabe)

Climate Control

Unlike Hell, the Angels have combated the sweltering heat problem of having 2 suns by using a Water Magic system to nullify the overheating effects in the sky, using an arrange of advanced scientific technologies mixed with magics (and an abundance of water) 'borrowed' from various Life Realms throughout the years.

Because of this, the populace of Heaven are capable of being out comfortably at all hours of the day. They tend to favour the daylight over the darkness because of this choice… and would never admit that it's also due to a petty reason, of wanting to separate themselves from the way of life lived by the Demons in Hell.

Time Structure

  • Heaven has 48 hours in a day
  • Typically 30 days a month
  • 7 months in a year
  • 210 days in a year

Much like Hell, the planet is flat (surrounded by The Wall (Similar to The Fade, in Hell))

Celestial Bodies

The Suns are referred to as Azious and Gabrious (Azi and Gabe)

Space Exploration Attempts

The angels have tried to reach the 'stars' of their realm by bringing space ships (stolen) from more advanced Life Realms through their Portal Gates.

They learned the hard way that there is no 'space' in a Death Realm.

The closer up you get to the suns, the hotter it will become. It will be an endless journey upward, and eventually all ships, be them designed in Life Realms or Death Realms and protected by varying degrees of intense magics, will always burn up, and destroy any soul that gets too close.

Governors - The Highest Council of Angels

Everything runs up the ladder to them. It's believed there are seven Governors of Heaven that run the council of angels, but there are far fewer than that in reality.

Purifiers - They create other Angels

A high standing power and a very rare and difficult power to come by. While they are the most powerful of Angels, technically, and their status is well respected- they are also the most restricted in the whole of Angel society. They are very rarely seen by the rest of society.

Seekers - They seek out souls in Purgatory

Two Seekers accompanied a Purifier when they go to purgatory. (making a total of 3 angels per unit) They are basically Purifier bodyguards without the purification power. They aid in the capture of particularly powerful and rowdy souls found in Purgatory. Their main purpose for 3 angel units, however, is if they run into a Torture Demon while searching Purgatory. Everything will be dropped in order to obtain the found Torture Demon.

Guardians - Angels tasked with locating and extracting unique (living) souls within life realms

These angels are considered a "Search and Extract" specialist. They will locate, and then follow around a specific and desired soul that is still in its living body, in a life realm. Guardians will watch over its life, and wait until this individual's body has died- before snatching their soul up, ensuring it does not reach purgatory. They then bring it to Heaven where it is to be made an angel. This process is done to ensure that there is no chance the soul will reincarnate into a new body, while in Purgatory, before a Seeker is able to find and grab it; or, to remove any threat of a Torture Demon aquiring the soul first before an angel does.

Guardians typically wait and watch in hidden places throughout the target soul's life, while they wait for its natural death; however, this is not always the case. Guardians have been known to occasionally insert themselves into mortal lives and society, in order to stay close and connected with the targeted soul at all times, allowing the instant extraction to be achievable the moment the mortal's shell passes on and releases their soul.

It is a rule that the Guardians follow that they will not bring upon the death of the soul's natural life- or save it from a death that may occure. They are strictly there for the soul, when it inevitably departs the realm.

Illume - Common Folk that look after the Essence

Basically like a big buddy system. An Illume gets assigned to an Essence and they help them along with whatever they need help with should they ask. Illumes can have up to 10 Essence assigned to them, but no more unless allowed by the Governors.

Essence - Common Folks

Kind of like a 'Newling' angel, but one can be an Essence all their existence without moving up in the chain. They need to apply to the high council for the title of Illume should they desire to be one. An Essence can have more than one Illume assigned to them, up to 2 or 3. Should they need more? - well.. that hasn't happened before. It is not uncommon for an Illume to offer help to an Essence not assigned to them. Kind of like an off the books helper. Though if they are caught butting their noses into too many unassigned Essences, they may lose their status as an Illume.

Unsighted Ones - Forgotten ones that hide out of sight within the city walls

We don't talk about them.

Water as Most Precious Substance

Definition and Function

Massive doorways in both Heaven and Hell.

MASSIVE DOORWAYS LOCATED IN BOTH DEATH REALMS (HEAVEN AND HELL), THAT LEAD TO VARIOUS REALMS OF LIFE (AS WELL AS EACH OTHER).

Lead to various Life Realms and can connect the two death realms.

What Happens When a Hellspawn Dies

If a Hellspawn is killed while outside of a Death Realm, their physical body will begin disintegrating into particles within the air. This is soul energy being pulled back through a portal gate in the Hell Realm. Each portal gate is governed by a Fire Lord (Fire Demon Kings of Hell). Once the Hellspawn's carcass fully evaporates within the Life Realm, they emerge through one of the gates in Hell and are greeted by a very angry fire demon. Their punishment is at the discretion of the King, but often leads to the destruction of that demon's soul.

Loss of Limbs

Likewise, if a Hellspawn has a limb cut off while in a Life Realm, that limb will disintegrate and return to Hell via the portal gates. However, the demon can still continue living in the liferealm, their lost limb will not grow back (as it would in a death realm). With this being said, the Fire Lord that obtains this demon's lost limb, is capable of summoning that particular demon out of the Life Realm using this limb as a magical catalyst. However, unless the demon is of great importance to a Fire Lord, they won't expand that kind of energy on someone so lowly to them, opting to wait for the rest of the demon to come to them instead.

Definition

Naturally born in the life realms. Typically weaker in strength and magic (otherwise judged by the size of the 'Aura' that surrounds them*), than those that came straight through a portal out of Hell, although this isn't always the case. Depending on the Life Realm Demon's parents and lineage, their aura may hold up against a HellSpawn. Second gen demons, - born from Hellspawn who escaped to the Life Realms, may or may not be as strong as their parents. Third gen, and fourth gen demons get weaker and weaker as they go down the chain.

Soul Properties

Realm demon souls act as any other reincarnation. Their soul is not demon but is inflicted by demon attributes passed down via their demon body's parentage, giving them an aura, albeit a smaller/weaker one than a hellspawn and upon death their soul will continue the cycle as an untouched soul would continue via purgatory or reincarnation.

Age Ranges

What is young in realm demon years? - What is adult age in realm demon years - What is old in realm demon years? (this scale is only referring to Realm Demon ages- Hellspawns is a completely different ballgame and numbers can get insane)

  • 1-100 is young/young adult
  • 200-500 is full grown adult
  • 600+ is a damn old demon

Lifespan

Average life span of realm demons varies greatly on the power of the Hellspawn(s) they originated from *and how far down the generation line they are from the original Hellspawn.

All demons age differently, but it is generally assumed that a realm demon does not live past 700 or 800 years, give or take a bit.

Definition

Straight out of Hell. These demons have escaped through a portal via a Death Realm (otherwise known as Hell, or Heaven). Their soul is raw power, not held back by the weight of life. They have a physical body- the one they left the Hell realm with, but it's essentially their soul in physical form, giving them an unbridled strength against those who were born within the life realm and have yet to shed their body and enter purgatory (which leads into a death realm). With this being said, Hellspawn demon that has made it to a Life Realm will not age or die as a naturally born creature would. They will live on in the realm until they are physically killed in some manner, or pulled back to Hell via some other methods.

Ages of Hellspawn

Ages of raw souls/Hellspawn vary greatly. The numbers can span the entire length of the universe combined, depending on when their souls were 'finished' by a torture demon and released into Hell for eternity.

Rule of thumb, if a demon is close, or older than 1,000,000,000. It's a damn old demon and should not be messed with. Anything under 1000 is 'new' a youngling. A freshly made demon and is considered 'low' on the social scale, regardless of their initial strength.

What Happens

If a Hellspawn is killed while outside of a Death Realm, their physical body will begin disintegrating into particles within the air. This is soul energy being pulled back through a portal gate in the Hell Realm. Each portal gate is governed by a Fire Lord (Fire Demon Kings of Hell). Once the Hellspawn's carcass fully evaporates within the Life Realm, they emerge through one of the gates in Hell and are greeted by a very angry fire demon. Their punishment is at the discretion of the King, but often leads to the destruction of that demon's soul.

Definition

Aura's are invisible forces around a demon (and sometimes other creatures/Humans alike) that hold a considerable amount of strength and magic in their soul. There are those (Typically Hunters and Slayers) that are trained in the art of 'seeing' an aura, which allows the viewer to see how powerful or dangerous a demon may be.

Effects

Even without being able to 'see' an aura, anyone will be able to feel the heavy, draining effects of a powerful aura, just by standing in the presence of said demon.

Variations

With this being said, all demons have auras, but not all demon's auras are noticeable, even with trained sight - though, if an aura is barely or not noticeable, it usually means the demon in question is pathetically weak. There are some demons, powerful beings, that can control the size of their aura, confusing those around them into misjudging their initial power.

What They Are

It should be noted that the Fae don't typically like being called Fairies. It's a little like 'name calling' to them. They take offense to it and it is an easy way to get on their bad side should it be used in their presence.

Living creatures typically existing in or outside Life Realms (within pocket realms).

Fae are living creatures by nature. Much like humans and animals, the fae naturally exist in life. However, there are exceptions to this rule, being that a Fae may die, and their swarm will hunt for their soul in Purgatory in order to rescue them from a terrible fate (being found by a Purifier Angel or a Torture Demon and made into the such.) Should the fae's swarm prove successful in their search to find their deceased friend's soul, they will bring them back aboard their pocket realm, where that Fae will now live much like a Hellspawn lives in a Life Realm. Unable to die of 'natural' aging, but of being killed (thus returning to purgatory after their next death).

Magical Properties

Fae souls contain massively condensed magic potential, packed into their living bodies.

Individual Fae

A single Fae is relatively harmless, and if one so desires, it is possible to capture and eat the Fae, giving the person an intense magical boost for a limited time (roughly a few days depending on the singular fae's magic quantities).

Swarms

A swarm of Fae, however, produces a magic far more powerful than that of the average demon or human. Even a Hellspawn would have great trouble against a swarm of fae, should the swarm be angered into attacking.

When they are together, a swarm of fae can be easily goaded into attacking. Much like the mob mentality of people; they are empowered by their united strength and may be pressured into doing things they wouldn't normally approve of, simply to impress the other fae around them.

Nature

They have been known to be extremely tricksy. But it should be noted they aren't evil by any stretch, yet have been known to abuse their magic on human and demon passerby when the fancy strikes… or they feel it is earned.

Best Practices When Encountering

Upon encountering a swarm of Fae, it is simply best to run as fast and as far as one can, to avoid any tricks or ill will the swarm may have in store. Should this not be an option, absolute care must be taken to ensure that one does not insult or aggravate the fae in any way. They take things very personally, and often will misunderstand if you are not clear in your intentions or speech.

Groveling, begging, and flattery is a viable option and is heftly encouraged in such scenarios.

Values

The Fae care about their own kind and put their own above all other creatures. With this being said, while they are a tight knit group, it is not uncommon for them to bring in other species into their fold. Due to many possible reasons, one of the biggest being their use of 'Familiars'.

Definition

Familiars to the Fae can range from any animal/creature or species from any of the realms (life and death alike). It's seen a little like having a lifelong pet, or an emotional support animal. It is heavily ingrained in their culture.

Coming of Age

Each Fae of high standing rank (monarchs, lords and ladies and extended of the Fae hierarchy, ((but is not limited to high standing fae))) will be tasked with finding a familiar to 'become of age'.

Fae become of age ONLY when they have discovered their own familiar. It may take many thousands of years to find a familiar or longer, or less. It depends on the magic type of that specific Fae. It is seen as a little embarrassing to not have acquired a familiar by a certain age. (it is a kin to a young person being looked down upon for not being married by a certain age).

Compatibility

The magic of the fae must be compatible with the magic/soul essence of the chosen familiar for the bond to work. Fae wanting to become of age scour the various realms in search of their compatible familiar. Often times the familiars will be of animal nature, but familiars are not limited to only animals. They can be sentient creatures too, such as demons, humans and angels alike.

Acquisition and Treatment

The familiar does not have to be willing to be taken to back with the fae to their home realm. And depending on how desperate the Fae is to find a familiar (and how difficult it may have been for them to find a particularly compatible familiar.) Sometimes a willing familiar is not the highest priority and this is seen as a justified action to take under these circumstances.

Though the fae are known not to mistreat the beings they spirit away. They do their best to ensure the comfort of those in their kingdom and treat them as their own (or close enough). They put great value on the lives of their familiar and may even put themselves in harm's way to ensure the safety of their familiar. Of course there are bad eggs in every species, and should the Fae find one of their own mistreating a familiar, heavy consequences will be carried out.

Status-Based Patterns

Royal fae (queen / princess and prince fae) often times have much stronger and not to mention more sentient of beings (humans, demons, angels, aliens etc) as their compatible magic potential Familiars

While normal fae usually only have animalistic or weaker compatible magic familiars.

Maturation

Fae mature very much like the phenomenon called neoteny, in which creatures retain juvenile characteristics depending on their environment, and will quickly mature given certain conditions.

The Queen's Role

The Queen Fae of a swarm is the one that births the new the fae in the swarm.

She gets heat cycles every couple dozen years or so. It can take a very long time for a heat cycle to happen to a fae queen. So when it finally occurs the queen has high expectations to produce new fae for the swarm.

Egg Laying

The fae queen lays eggs sometimes multiple over the course of many months. With no need to procreate after the initial affair is completed. The eggs will just keep growing one after the other for about a year at the latest.

Though that fae childling isn't actually her child unless it's a queen egg. Only the queen egg will produce an heir to the fae queen.

Queen Eggs and Heirs

When the queen egg finally occurs, in which case, that will be her heir when it becomes of age / aka gets its own familiar.

There are occasions where the queen egg will produce a male fae in which this will become a prince fae.

Princes Can't Rule

However the prince fae cannot become a fae ruler of a swarm- not because of any gender biased, but the male fae simply cannot birth eggs and generate new fae for a swarm. Therefore the swarm would wither and die as time goes on.

Gender and Magic

Fae soul energy (magics) are also typically much stronger and stable in female fae than in male fae, particularly when it comes to a Queen fae.

Swarm Trading

Fae swarms often trade fae as well when they meet and don't try and kill each other. So that's another way new fae are introduced into the swarm.

Fae Kings (Theoretical)

There COULD be a fae king but it's not really heard of or understood why you would have one unless there was very specific and needed circumstances where a prince fae needs to step up and become a "queen" for a while, before a fae queen is found somehow - either gained via fighting over one from another swarm/ stealing one, being gifted one from another swarm that gained two (usually through heir progressing from princess to queen), or SOMEHOW discovering one that has no swarm wandering around for whatever reason.

Mating Partners

A queen of fae doesn't need to mate with a prince fae or even a male fae (Female fae can switch gender in order to breed with the queen)

With that said, female fae can also be potential suitors to the queen fae when she's in her heat cycle which is the only time the queen can conceive. Outside of her heat cycle it is impossible to conceive an egg even through intercourse.

Queen Egg Probability

When prince or queen fae unite with a fae queen, it makes a high probability for an egg produced to become a queen egg.

As well as also a stronger soul magic / energy infused queen egg in general.

While a normal heat cycle that produces an egg with a regular fae and it's queen would rarely make a queen egg.

It's not impossible and often times fae swarms just wait for the queen to produce one naturally via this method, without trying to pair her up with another fae queen or prince from another swarm unless there is a dire situation in which a queen egg is needed immediately.

Emergency Situations

Some reasons could be: The Fae queen has become sick or too old or has lost her living body and is now a raw soul pulled from purgatory after dying (see info on living and raw souls in regular world info document) And there is no current heir in line, the fae will require an immediate queen egg to be made due to circumstances like these.

Cross-Swarm Mating

There are possibilities that one queen fae from a swarm, mates with another fae queen or fae prince from a different swarm (there's no fae kings they just stop at the prince title).

Maturation

Fae mature very much like the phenomenon called neoteny, in which creatures retain juvenile characteristics depending on their environment, and will quickly mature given certain conditions.

Regular Fae Producing Eggs

There is also the EXTREMELY rare potential for a regular fae female to produce an egg.

Regular fae females do not ever produce true eggs (they may have them on occasion after intercourse with a fae mate, but they will always be empty)

However should there be no queen (or perhaps even if there was still a queen present in the swarm) there is the extremely 0.00001 % chance that a regular fae citizen could produce an actual queen egg.

General Structure

Monarch / Royal Family Highest political power.

Geography

The world consists of few large continents and multiple islands. One of the main powerhouses of the world is the Island of Edin. Though it is smaller than many of the continents on the planet, it is dubbed one of the most powerful in terms of financial stability, people, technology and kingdom strength.

The Mainland is off the coast of Edin and is the largest continent on the planet and consists of many different countries. Often at war with one another.

Location and History

On the island continent of Edin Near the waterfronts The name originated because of the large amount of volcanic activity in the area long ago- now mostly all dormant. Ashra has existed for close to 700 years

People and Culture

The people go by Ashrans The main domain of the demon slayer clans The land is often referred to the land of ash and sea, or the Slayer Kingdom

The main city of Slayers is known as a'Tenyuu and is located at the furthest edge of the sea leading out to the Mainland

Relations and Beliefs

The slayer kingdom is not in good standing with the nearby Hunter Kingdoms.

The people have strong right or wrong beliefs. Many are religious and look to the 'deity' of 'Shimmering Lights'. (Otherwise known as the dark master, but only hellspawn demons would call it that) - another alternative to this religion is that the shimmering lights are not actually a creature but the purgatory water itself. Many speculate because the humans in life realms simply don't know.

Ashrians hate demons because of the wars and chaos that have happened with them in the past.

They also feel that demons tarnish the good name of the God(dess) of shimmering lights. They believe the god is trapped by the demons and the only way to free it is to exterminate them all.

As the slayers are the main waterfront location where demons from the mainland arrive from, they have had many bad experiences with a large quantity of demons of all kinds, opposed to the rest of the continent further inland.

Health Issues

Despite their dangerous life style, a lot of innerland slayers (away from the sea sides, exhibit lung/breathing issues- due to a long line of ancestors that dealt with the volcanic ash in the air in earlier times) though this is just speculation and not scientific fact.

Location and Geography

The Hunter Kingdom (On Edin) Closer inland. Surrounded by hills and mountain forests.

People and Organization

The residents of Wulfe are called Wulffies or Wulfans Sekkra is the main hunter city within Wulfe Hunters: Hunt in units of 5 per squad, with one or two captains leading the team (depending on the risk)

Leadership

Governed by Alluh the Queen of Hunters - With family ties to the hunter kingdom on the mainland 'Heftle' (mother and father)

Beliefs and Technology

Mainly not religious. As it is their code to capture and not kill, the Hellspawn / realm demons, they've questioned over the years has clarified science over belief, allowing them to see the clearer picture, untouched by the Slayer's religious bias.

Underneath their city of Sekkra, lies a high-tech facility that has existed there for thousands of years. Much of the technology found there has improved their own understanding and sciences. They do not know where it originated from or who built it, but they use it in their city as the Sectors where they keep the demons they capture in cells and cages.

History

The Hunter Kingdom is younger than the Slayer Kingdom- it was founded roughly 450 years ago by ex slayers who believed not all demons deserved to die but knew there needed to be some sort of order to their potentially dangerous existence among the people of the land.

Health Issues

The people of Wulfe are known to experience great arthritis and joint issues due to such a mountainous and hilly landscape

Location and Identity

The people are called Naytrians (On Edin). The main City of Naytron or 'Norme' is G'erstle.

History and Naming

Naytron was formed by settlers from the mainland who wished not to have any dealings with Hunters and Slayers, but eventually needed to face the fact that those two people were here to stay. Thus they decided to work with them, but not as one of them.

Naytron is the official name of the kingdom, but due to some past disagreements with the original founders, many stubbornly call it Norme, even to this day (depending on who they are descended from).

The Kingdom of Naytron is roughly 650 years old, though some argue that they were here first before the slayers even arrived. Due to past wars and unfortunate environmental disasters, these records are now destroyed and word of mouth passed down by elders are all they have to go off of about this fact. It is said that Naytrians became the greatest bookkeepers in the land due to this fact- refusing to lose their history again.

Strengths and Skills

These people are the citizens of the land, and would claim to be the backbone of the continent's livability.

What they lack in knowledge against the demon invaders, they gain with other abilities and knowledge. They are excellent builders and creators of high fashion and unique goods and devices that both Slayer and Hunters have been known to use in their own kingdoms.

They are the founders of certain electricity and unique sciences that both slayers and hunters utilize in their kingdoms.

They often are referred to as bookkeepers, though only one city contains the largest library in the land (City of New Lass), and the people of Naytron would rather you focus on their other strengths more than their bookkeeping abilities.

Political Position

As a kingdom, the people hold no (or few) grudges against the Slayers or the Hunters, often relying on them for aid against demon threats and as such are also always caught in the middle when the two kingdoms are warring with each other. They however should not be underestimated and have been known to win wars in the past due to their own cunning and crafty natures.

If questioned about the hunters or slayers, Naytrians can be seen sighing, or rolling their eyes at the drama the two kingdoms continuously cause and consider the neighboring kingdoms as 'creating more problems than they fix.' But are otherwise quite pleasant to visitors from the two kingdoms (when they are within earshot, that is).

When it comes down to it, without the hunters or slayers, Naytron would be overcome by demon invaders. So the civilians of Naytron mind their tongues at the very least.

Health Issues

People of Naytron's leading cause of death is a range of cancers, due to their constant exposure to untested/being tested technology and the fumes of the fabric dyes they often use continuously in the air (which ironically smell pretty great, despite the danger of constant exposure to it). With this being such, masks are seen as high fashion and are commonly used during daily affairs.

Sigma's sister lived here. This is where they grew up together.

City that Malka takes over with his enchantment, and ultimately destroys after the hunters come to claim him. He still believes he's done no wrong.

For a while the city walls sat in empty silence, a ghostly reminder of what powers unchecked demons can hold; but now it has started to see life again.

Location and History

On the Mainland. Originally the motherland of Slayers but was overthrown by Hunters hundreds of years ago and is now a kingdom governed by Hunters - the Hunter Queen Alluh's mother and father govern the kingdom and Alluh works with them on her own in Edin.

Characteristics

Contains cities with the largest populations and wealth.

Also the location with the most unique demons- oftentimes this is where Hellspawn emerge from other realms and as such, their danger (and unfamiliarity with humans) is far greater than those that make their way to Edin.

Language

Their dialect is stronger and difficult to understand to their Edin counterparts.

Demon Research

They have been known to be gathering demons to use in experiments and further their reach into the slayer (and other) outer kingdoms.

Location

On the Mainland. Largest extension of the Slayer kingdom apart from the one on Edin.

Character

Known to be more bloodthirsty than their Edin counterparts. A people filled with rage towards demons for past wrongdoings and have a no nonsense culture (even the people in Ashra find them quite extreme).

Names and Location

To the residents of this outlaw city, this place is just called The Camp. One can't very well go around calling their secret lair a 'Bandit City', after all! And the surrounding authorities of the land are also made aware of its residence somewhere in the land of Cold Oak. Thus, using The Camp as an umbrella term for this great gathering of criminals.

A secret city on the mainland nestled on the mountainous border between the hunter and slayer kingdoms. Hugged closely by a thick forest, built into a mountain by the sea, it hides from view from those that wish to squander it.

Nature

An outlaw center for pirates and bandits and law breakers alike. A place not for the faint of heart.

Though this place has few laws, it still has a set of rules or codes that the men and women of this city uphold.

Leadership

Has a group of leaders. 6 leaders (one of which is a demon in disguise- the other human leaders know that one of them is a demon, but do not know which one). They all wear masks.

This hidden city has forsaken the natural order of the outer lining lands, refusing to bow to any king or queen or leader they have not chosen for themselves.

Though this place has few laws, it still has a set of rules or codes that the men and women of this city uphold.

Nature

Safe zone, no killing allowed. Humans and demons live amongst each other.

Leadership

There is a human head, a hellspawn head, and a half demon/half human head that are the main ones in charge of 'running' this place.

Location

This place is far off the mainland and nowhere near Edin.

Activities

Lots of shady stuff goes on here, but is generally untouched by slayers and hunters that rule the rest of the planet.
